Sainsburys 2012 School Games, 06-9 May 2012, Olympic Park & other venues

Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, this multi-sport event for around 1600 of the UK's elite young athletes culminated in a series of finals in the Olympic Park and other venues, complete with opening and closing ceremoniesI was again working with Fast Track, drawing up the EMP for venues in the Olympic Park and engaging with suppliers to meet LOCOG's requirements for sustainability.

Gold Challenge, 01 Apr 2012, Olympic Stadium

I was delighted to support event management company Fast Track in implementing LOCOG's requirements for sustainability on this test event in the Olympic Stadium.  The event was the highlight of a national initiative with the British Olympic Association (BOA), encouraging participation in a range of sporting activities & raising funds for 125 charity partners.  Demonstrating how creative management can save both costs and environmental impacts, the event shared a number of services with the National Lottery Olympic Park Run organised by Nova International on 31 March 2012.  My role was to engage with key suppliers in meeting LOCOG's criteria and to draw up the necessary paperwork, notably the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).  Of course, it was also a great opportunity to preview the stadium and surrounding park!
